BEULAH BRIGGS

ADA — Services for Beulah Grace Briggs, 100, Ada, are 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home, Ada. The Rev. Lewis Perry will officiate. Burial follows at Center Cemetery.

The family will have visitation from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home.

Mrs. Briggs died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Ada. She was born Oct. 22, 2909, at Moriarty, N.M., to William Luther and Annie Fisher McKinley.

She married Marvin Utah Briggs in 1927. He died Feb. 20, 1992, at Ada.

Mrs. Briggs attended Rocky Chapel Schools and Vanoss Schools. She later attended East Central Teachers College. She was a longtime resident of the Ada area and member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and assocated with the home demonstration club.

Survivors include three sons, James Briggs, Ada, Bill Briggs and wife Glenda, Ada, and Howard Briggs and wife Juanita, Stratford; a daughter, Patsy Ann Brown and husband Robert of Ada; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Briggs, Ada, Ada; 11 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Briggs; a son, Lloyd Briggs; infant twins; two sisters, Effie Burns, Goldie Cornell; and a brother, Herbert McKinley.

Bearers are Roger Brown, Gary Briggs, Bobby Briggs, Heath Briggs, James Martin and Michael Blackburn.

JESSE — Services for Edwin L. Holland, 85, Jesse are 2 p.m. Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Kendall Martin will officiate. Burial will follow at Jesse Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Holland died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at a local hospital.

Mr. Frazier died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at a Shawnee hospital.
