WADE BROWN
SULPHUR — Funeral services for Wade Walton Brown, 86, are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Sulphur, Bill Leveridge officiating. Burial follows in Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur.
Mr. Brown died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at Sulphur. He was born Jan. 1, 1923, in Springer, Okla., to Joseph Edward and Cassie Drew Fletcher Brown.
Wade Brown and Billie Kathryn Chaffin were married Dec 13, 1947, at Gainesville, Texas. She died July 8, 2007.
Mr. Brown served in the US Army during World War II and again in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged Oct 12, 1955, at the rank of staff sergeant. He worked many years for the Occidental Chemical Co. as a chemical consultant. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nadine Hatfield and brother Ralph Brown.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Carolyn Ozbirn and husband Carl; one son, Duane Warren Brown; two granddaughters, Kathryn Walck and husband Mark and Krista Emory and husband Don; five great-grandchildren, Madysen, Kirsten, Sydney and Alexis Walck and Karlee Emory.
Bearers are Toddy Crumb, Russell Watson, Kevin Dale, Gary Wayne Chafffin, Stephen Paul Chaffin, Alan Dale, Mark Woodell and Kent Dale. Honorary bearers are Larry Don Chaffin, David Shores, David Swab, Todd Allen Crumb, Brett Flatt, Terry Flowers, Keith Limke, Ricky Stough, Keith Chaffin, Scott Chafffin and Brad Frazier.

COALGATE — Services for Wanda Lee Smith Childers, 82, Coalgate, are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at Brown's Funeral Services Chapel, the Revs. David Unsell and Bill Weathers officiating. Burial follows at Coalgate Cemetery.
Family night will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Childers died Oct. 17, 2009, at Ada. She was born Jan. 14, 1927, in Coalgate to Richard and Odney Kent Smith.
She attended Coalgate schools and worked many years at Coalgate School. She retired as cafeteria manager after 24 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
She married Edward Childers July 14, 1947, at Rock Springs, Wyo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Childers; her parents, Richard and Odney Kent Smith; daughter, Connie Taylor; son-in-law, Billy Taylor; brothers, Leon Smith and Raymond Smith; and a sister, Laura Faye Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Gaylin Childers and wife Lynn of Coalgate, Richard Childers and wife Debbie of Coalgate; a daughter, Kim Johnson, Owasso; two sisters, Pat Means, Birmingham, Ala., and Sue Sartin, Atoka; a brother, Jimmy Smith and wife Linda of Duncan; a sister-in-law, Wynema Smith, Coalgate; grandchildren, Justin Childers and wife Andrea, Marti Spears and husband Brad, Jodi Lackey and husband Chad, Jana Duncan and husband James, Bailey Johnson and Morgan Johnson; nine great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Bearers are Gary Vaughn, Eddie Anglin, Chili Joe Bills, Danny Ward, Jerry Stephens and Jimmy Jo Wilson. Honorary bearers are J.D. Smith, Ernest Paul Fanning, J.C. Ward, Leon Lanoy, Dr. John Linton, Pat Ferrero, Murl Ward, Betty Hartsfield, Freda Rogers and Gloria Williams.

EUGENE LANCE
ADA — Graveside services for Eugene Edward Lance, 97, Ada, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Maxwell Cemetery, the Revs. Earl Hood and Glen Eaves will officiate. The U.S. Army Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Lance died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at a local nursing home. He was born Jan. 15, 1912, at Hartshorne to David and Elizabeth Hunter Lance.
He lived in the Maxwell community and attended Maxwell school.
He married Katherine Wood on Nov. 14, 1931. She died Feb. 19, 2004.
Mr. Lance owned and operated Lance Grocery in Oil Center and was also a cattle tradesman. He was a member of the Maxwell Holiness Church and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received the Purple Heart Medal while serving in Germany.
Survivors include a son, Edward Lance and wife Joyce, Ada; two grandsons, Bob Walls and Tony Kaai; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Eddie Lance and a great grandson, Bobby Walls.
Bearers will be Lynn Wood, Charles Wood, Bob Passmore, Ewell Lance, Mike Gray and Tony Kaai. Honorary bearers will be Glen Trimmer, Doyle Evans, Greg Lance, Brett Walls, Trevor Kaai and Sam Burnsed.
