CARLA GARRETT
ROFF — Funeral services for Carla Jean Garrett, 52, of Roff will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at First Baptist Church in Ada. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Roff. Officiating will be the Rev. Jim Adams and assisting will be the Rev. Steve Wilburn. Family to welcome friends for visitation from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, Oct. 1, at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home.
Mrs. Garrett died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at her residence in Roff. She was born June 15, 1957 in El Reno, Oklahoma to Harold Leroy (Cotton) and Charlene Carolyn Sanders Wartchow.
Mrs. Garrett graduated from Roff High School and then graduated from East Central University with a Master’s Degree in Reading. She was employed at Roff Headstart and as a teacher in the Sulphur School System and later for 13 years with the Roff School System. She was member of Roff Methodist Church and longtime resident of Roff.
Mrs. Garrett is survived by her husband, Gene Garrett of the home; one son, Levi Garrett of Roff; one daughter, Keisha Lemons and husband Shane of Ardmore, Okla.; mother Charlene Wartchow of Roff; one brother Ronnie Wartchow and wife Connie of Roff; one sister Connie Smith and husband Willie of Ada; two grandchildren, Garrett Lemons and Christian Lemons of Ardmore; three nephews, Chad Wartchow and wife Cristal of Roff, Mark Wartchow and wife Liz of Roff, and Justin Smith of Ada; one niece, Charissa Smith; four great-nieces, Carley Collings, Coy Wartchow, Riley Wartchow, and MaKenzie Wartchow all of Roff.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy “ Cotton” Wartchow.
Bearers will be Roger Callison, Jim Barr, Bobby Harrison, Ross Workman, Burt Humphreys, Robbie Ritchie, Jim Williams, Buddy Crews.
Honorary bearers are Mike Smith, Chad King, Tracy Adams, Gary Green, Ryan Norwood, Brent Crawford.

CARRIE LINDSEY
ATWOOD — A memorial service for Carrie “Granny” Lindsey, 92, Atwood, Okla., will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oc. 3, at The Lighthouse of Prayer in Arpelar, Okla.
Carrie “Granny” Lindsey was born Aug. 12, 1917 and died Sept. 29, 2009 after losing a battle with cancer. She died at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Atwood.
She was born in Gage, Okla. to Ethel and Charles Adams. They moved to Friona, Texas in 1925 where she attended school. She graduated in 1936 and completed one year of college.
She married Oscar Stokes Sept. 17, 1938. He died in a farming accident Oct. 19, 1940.
She married Virgil Lindsey May 26, 1945. They lived in Friona and Bovina, Texas, until December 1951 when they moved to Porterville, Calif. and then to Strothmore, Calif. in 1962. She worked for the State of California for 18 years. After her retirement she moved back to Oklahoma. She lived in Fairland, Okla. for several years. Due to illness she moved to Atwood where she lived with her daughter and son in law Brenda and Bob Chapman.
Mrs. Lindsey was a member of Racine Christian Church in Racine, Mo.
She is survived by daughters Brenda Chapman and husband Bob, Donna Stephens and husband Bob, and Rhonda and husband Gary Millarr, and daughter in laws Maggie Lindsey and Joyce Lindsey. She had 23 grand children and numerous great and great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lindsey was preceded in death by her husbands Oscar Stokes and Virgil Lindsey, sons Brad and Tim Lindsey, daughter Ginger Lockwood, brothers Charles, Casey, and Raymond Adams, sister Alice Wilkins, and parents Charles and Ethel Adams.

KONAWA — Graveside services with full military honors for L.C. Harrison Jr., 88, Shawnee, formerly of Seminole County, are 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at Konawa Cemetery.
Mr. Harrison died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at his home.

ADA — Funeral service for Barbara Young , 58 of Ada, Oklahoma is pending with Smith-Phillips Funeral Home. She died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, in Ada.

FRANCIS — Graveside services for Lola Jane Sutton, 80, Milburn, formerly of Francis are 2 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Francis, the Revs. Jamie Perry and Richard Bailey will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sutton died Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 at a Tishomingo hospital. She was born Aug. 21, 1929 at Las Cruces, N.M. to James A. and Margaret Rogers Dickerson. She graduated from Milburn High School in 1951. She moved to Francis in the early 1950s from New Mexico.
She married Herbert “Buster” Sutton Nov. 13, 1954 at McAlester, Okla. He preceded her in death July 28, 2008. Mrs. Sutton was a teacher’s aide at Francis schools for 13 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two grandsons, Wayne Sampson, Duncan and Shane Sampson, Oakman; a step-son, Dennis Sutton, Ada; four great-grandchildren, Katelin Sampson, Rusti Barnes, Randi Conn and Ryane Conn; three great-great-grandchildren, Anna Belle Barnes, Trenton Barnes and Ashlynn Barnes; two brothers, Fate Dickerson, Milburn and Frank Dickerson, Milburn; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herbert “Buster” Sutton and a son, Jimmy Sampson in 1994.
Bearers will be Shane Sampson, Wayne Sampson, Hershel Stewart, Jamie Perry, Steven Martinez, and Jamie Abbott.
