DENNIS AULD
KONAWA — Services for Dennis Keith Auld, 53, long-time resident of Konawa, are 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Assembly of God Church in Konawa. Burial follows at Vamoosa Cemetery. The Revs. Steve Lowrance and Steve Wilburn will officiate.
Mr. Auld died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at his home. He was born Dec. 23, 1955, in Newcastle, Wyo., to George and Joyce Eaton Auld.
Mr. Auld married Julie Wingo on April 3, 1999, in Hennepin.
He was a drug and alcohol counselor who also provided clinical expertise to Drug and Alcohol centers in Australia, Scotland, and Amsterdam. Mr. Auld was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Konawa and a member of the Konawa School Board. He was also a COFMC board member. Mr. Auld attended Langston University on a full scholarship and was one of the first white football players. While he was the director of Oklahoma Drug and Alcohol Professional Counselor’s Association, he played a key role in the passage of law to regulate drug and alcohol treatment in Oklahoma. During the last few months, Mr. Auld established a small business in Konawa.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Auld, of the home; a son, Dennis Connor Auld, of the home; two daughters, Madison Auld, of the home, and Kristie Wynn and husband, Bradley of Oklahoma City; four brothers, Mike Auld, Prague, Steve Auld, Yukon, Dale Auld and wife, Roxie of Seminole, and Mark Auld, Asher; one grandchild, Cameron Brooks; one stepbrother, Gerald Jolley, Cushing; and three stepsisters, Retta Brawdy, Oklahoma City, Glenda Martin, Enid, and Debbie Walker, Konawa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Joyce Auld.
Bearers are Mike Auld, Steve Auld, Dale Auld, Mark Auld, Lonnie Brooks and Frank Serrano.

THOMAS MARTIN
ADA — Memorial services for Thomas J. Martin, 57, Ada, are 3 p.m. Monday at Abba’s House Worship Center, the Rev. Ken Angel officiating.
Mr. Martin died on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at his home. He was born April 22, 1952, in Little Rock, Ark., to Sila and Thelma Duncan Martin.
He retired from employment with Tyson Chicken in Dardanelle, Ark.
He married Shirley Ruth Murphy on Feb. 14, 1984, in Van Buren, Ark.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ruth Martin, of the home; stepchildren, Walter Lee Murphy, Radford, Tenn.; Paul Carlas Murphy, Van Buren, Ark.; Mary Ruth Jones, Van Buren, Ark.; Wilma Lea James, Fort Smith, Ark.; Becky Davis, Ada; and Clark Eugene Davis, Van Buren, Ark.; 19 stepgrandchildren; 18 step great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Linda Cox, Heff, Ark., and Janet Pakr, Forest City, Ark.
