ADA — An art show by area artist Erin Wetherill called “Husk” will be showing at the Pogue Art Gallery in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center. The exhibit will run from Dec. 5 to Dec. 17 and a reception will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“This show explores the dynamic interplay between the exterior and interior space of the human figure,” a press release from Wetherill said. “By representing this form as a hollow shell, the artists’ intentions are to provoke feelings of unease and personal insight of the innate fragility and impermanence of the human body.
“These ideas are further strengthened in the show by using primarily natural, transitory or delicate materials for each of the artworks.”
Gallery hours for the Pogue Art Gallery are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The release said Wetherill will also be opening an art supply store called Red Earth Art Supply in the Arts District of Ada on east Main Street within a few months.
