ADA – In an effort to keep the city’s wastewater system in peak operating condition this holiday season, officials are encouraging residents to recycle cooking waste instead of pouring it down the drain.
The city has installed a cooking oil/grease recycling container in the south parking lot of the Pontotoc County Fairgrounds where it is accessible to local residents around the clock. It will remain there through the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.
The recycling container can accept oils and grease. Food scraps should be placed in the trash.
For more information on this recycling program, phone Environmental Coordinator Scott Roberson at 436-8155.
