Horses to get new homes
By Randy Mitchell

VANOSS — Several horses which authorities said have been neglected will get new homes, according to Pontotoc County sheriff’s officials.
Officials said the horses, eight in all, were underfed and were scheduled to be seized from the property where they were located near Vanoss.
Undersheriff Arnold Scott said a good Samaritan in Hughes County agreed to take two of the horses and has found several other land owners who agreed to take the rest.
Scott said the sheriff’s department will continue to monitor the health and welfare of the animals until they are in normal health.
