Fire chief: ‘It was arson’

Ada Fire marshal investigates

Ada — Officials are ruling a fire which destroyed a house in north Ada Friday as arson.

Firefighters responded to the pre-dawn house fire located at the intersection of Broadway Court and Dellan Scott Drive at 4:10 a.m. The two-story home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

Ada firefighters called for assistance from Byng firefighters who responded with a tanker and a brush truck. Firefighters battled the blaze for 80 minutes before it was completely extinguished.

Fire Chief Marion Harris said there was no electricity to the vacant house leading them to believe it was an arson fire. Fire Marshal Justin Priest is investigating.

Anyone with information on the fire can phone CrimeStoppers at 33CATCH or 332-2824, earn a reward and remain anonymous.
