Two people hurt in car crash
Fitzhugh — Two people were injured in a wreck near Fitzhugh Monday night.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Tyler Jack said the wreck occurred at the intersection of State Highway 1 and the Chickasaw Turnpike at 9:43 p.m.
Jack said Zachary Ryan Hamilton, 25, Ardmore, was driving east on the turnpike in a 2002 Honda Civic when he failed to yield at a stop sign.
His vehicle was hit in the side by a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix driving south on SH 1 by Maegan Rae Kelley, 21, Sulphur. Hamilton was taken by Valley View EMS to Valley View Regional Hospital.
He was admitted with internal injuries. He is listed as stable. Kelley was taken by private vehicle to Arbuckle Hospital in Sulphur where she was treated and released.
A passenger in Hamilton’s vehicle, Penelton J. Phillips, 25, Ardmore, was not injured. Firefighters from Ada and Roff, Pontotoc County sheriff’s deputies and Chickasaw Lighthorse police also responded.
