Ada Main Street plans Bridal Extravaganza
Ada Main Street will be hosting it’s first “Save the Date” Bridal Extravaganza Saturday July 12, 2008, 10am to 2pm at the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex.
The Bridal Extravaganza will feature bridal fashion shows, demonstrations, music, “Bag Bride” wedding gown competition and the “longest bouquet toss” for the grand prize package. The “Bag Bride” wedding gown competition is a challenge to design an amazing wedding gown using nothing but shopping bags with the local merchants’ logo.
The bags can be sewn, stapled, glued or taped. Velcro can only be used in the aid of getting the dress on and off, not in the construction of the gown. For more information and contest rules, contact the Ada Main Street office at 580-436-1600 or adamainstreet@cableone.net.
Brides can compete during the Bridal Extravaganza hourly for the “longest bouquet toss”. Each hour brides will compete to see who can toss the bouquet the furthest. We will have referees measuring and awarding the hourly prize to the bride with the furthest toss. The winning brides from each hour will compete in the finale to see who takes home the grand prize package.
The Promotions and Organization Committees of Ada Main Street researched the prospective wedding vendors and came up with seventy-eight local merchants that offer wedding services or products. They also researched what is offered for the bride to be in the southeastern region of the state.
The committees found there are several wedding vendors in our region, but no organized event to bring them all together in one location for the bride-to-be. Ada Main Street decided to organize an event bringing the vendors and the brides to be together in one location, the “Save the Date” Bridal Extravaganza at the Pontotoc County Agriplex. Vendors from Ada, Antlers, Coalgate, Durant, McAlester and Oklahoma City will be on hand with booths displaying various products and bridal services.
For more information on the “Save the Date” Bridal Extravaganza or exhibitor space, please contact Cari Gray at Ada Main Street 580-436-1600, adamainstreet@cableone.net or stop by 114 S Rennie, Ada, Ok 74820.
