Harrison exhibit at Old Bank Gallery

The Old Bank Gallery is honored to present a return exhibit of the works of Hanna Harrison, entitled “Reigning Cats and Dogs (and other animals)”. Harrison shows her favorite animal friends in their royal finery. These exquisite paintings honor those animals that really rule households. The exhibit is open from May 1 to May 30, Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Gallery is located at 201 West Main, Ada, Ok. The Gallery will be accepting items for the PAWS animal shelter during this exhibit. Phone the Gallery (580 332 2781) for details.

Harrison is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and the Cider Painters of America. She has received numerous awards including two Best of Show awards, the Judges Choice award and the Presidential Award. She has been named the best miniature painter in the country previously. Her wide range of work includes portraits, signs, murals, theatre sets and fine art. Harrison also accepts commissions for portraits of favorite animals and people. For more examples of her work, visit her website at www.hannaheharrison.com.

Harrison has received another award from the Cider Painters of American (miniature society). In addition, one of her paintings received the Judge’s Choice Award at this year’s Cider Painters of American International Exhibit. The society selected Harrison as one of the two individuals to be awarded Signature member status.

Harrison has been interested in art and animals since early childhood. She attributes much of her success to teachers who recognized her interest in art and encouraged her work. She completed a degree in art with a minor in creative writing. She also interned with children’s book illustrator Kevin Hawkes where she assisted him with his book, “Handel: Who Knew What He Liked.” Harrison also started early writing her own stories. Her ideas about stories and her art have converged in paintings that evoke a feeling that a story could be behind the picture. Whether her animals are dressed up in evening clothes or just peer adorable eyes, viewers will be enchanted with them all.
