Two injured in accident near Tupelo
TUPELO — A Durant man and a Keens, Texas, woman were injured in a two-vehicle accident near Tupelo Friday night.
According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Doyal Kelly, 55, was air lifted to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa with back and neck injuries. Vicky G. Lee, 49, was taken to Coal County Memorial Hospital in Coalgate with head injuries.
Doyal, who was driving a 1993 Jeep SUV, was traveling east on State Highway 3 and reportedly slowed to make a right turn. His vehicle was struck from behind by a 2005 GMC pickup, driven by George Fisher, 56, Oklahoma City. Fisher was uninjured.
