Four-wheeler stolen from pickup

ADA — Within 30 minutes, David Young said thieves took his four wheeler from the back of his pickup and made their getaway. On Nov 10 at 1:57 a.m. central dispatch sent police officers to take a theft report from Young at Sooner Stop regarding his stolen four wheeler.

Young had met with friends at Sooner Stop on North Broadway to go eat leaving his pickup parked at the convenience store with the tailgate backed up to the store.

While he was gone whoever took the four wheeler out of the bed of the truck moved a newspaper vending machine out of the way.

Lisa Young, David’s mother, said the pickup was an older truck used on their ranch for feeding and the tailgate couldn’t be opened.

“We live close by and heard it start up, but thought David was riding it. The key wasn’t in it so they must have hot wired it. There had to have been several people involved in taking the four-wheeler to get it out of the back of the truck. We’ve had three four-wheelers stolen this year,” she said.

The missing 4-wheeler is described as a 2005 OSU orange Kawasaki Model KFX400 four wheeler, replacement value $5000.

The vehicle was tagged and was classified as a racing bike used for river racing having the big tires. It was missing the front and rear grab bar, has a broken left heel bar, the right rear fender was melted from exhaust, has a bent left clutch handle, OSU graphics all over, powder coated HFM pipe, Athen brand piston jug two holes drilled in right and left handle bars for aftermarket lights.

Anyone with information about this crime or any other unsolved felony crime or the whereabouts of a known criminal, phone Crimestoppers at (580) 332-2824.
