Davis man killed in wreck
Ada — A Davis man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck over the weekend.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Tracey Laxton said the wreck occurred on a private drive about two miles northwest of Davis at 6:40 p.m. Saturday.
Laxton said Jack Douglas Cruce, 53, Davis, was driving a 1988 GMC pickup when he lost control, overcorrected and the pickup began to slide sideways. The vehicle slammed into an electric pole.
Cruce was taken by Murray County EMS to Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur where he was pronounced dead.
Based on his investigative opinion, Laxton listed the cause of the wreck as unsafe speed and said Cruce was not wearing a seat belt.
