Media specialists

Students from the western half of Oklahoma gathered at East Central University for three weeks in June as part of a grant program that allows them to earn master of education degrees with a library media specialist option. The 22 students participated in graduate level courses, field trips and activities. The grant began two years ago and has directly benefitted 42 students by offering tuition, room and board, meals and supplies for the three weeks of summer classes. Courses were taught by Debbie Claxton, Cindy Keefer and Patti Palmer. During the academic year, students enroll in interactive television classes close to their homes.
