The Cliff at Cedarvale is open from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m. every day but Tuesday and doors open at 11 a.m. on Sunday with a special lunch menu.
Menu prices range from $8 to $25 and include steaks, chicken, tilapia, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and desserts.
Dr. Ron Bulard, dentist, and entrepreneur of Ardmore, and Alvin Moody, co-owner and CEO of Juell Records and the Juell Foundation are the restaurant owners. Kristen Carr, from Maysville, is the general manager and Tyrone Davis, from New Orleans, La. is the executive chef.
The Cliff at Cedarvale is the first “liquor by the drink” establishment in the Turner Falls area. Drinks can be served on The Cliff’s three-tier, covered outdoor patio which can seat 100 people.
Bulard said the huge cliff wall facing the restaurant’s back patio inspired the restaurant’s name.
“That cliff has been witness to the Trail of Tears and countless cattle drives at the turn of the century," Bullard said. "The waters of Honey Creek were once dammed to create an enormous swimming pool for a resort in the 30s and 40s and have been stocked with freshwater mountain trout in the 70s.”
Bulard bought the property from the Howell family, who once ran a restaurant here fondly referred to as “The old Trout Place.”
Bulard, a former patron, said, “I remember sitting on the back porch eating trout fingers while enjoying the view and now I can help other people create new memories of this historical place while eating great food.”
The Cliff at Cedarvale is also currently accepting Holiday Party Bookings.
