MONDAY
DEC. 7, 2009
• Busy Hands Quilt Club meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Harmony Free Will Baptist Church, 225 S.E. County Road, Ada. Visitors welcome.
• Ada City Council meets the first and third Monday each month at 5:45 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall unless the day falls on a holiday. Meetings are also televised live on cable channel 11.
• Pontotoc County Alcoholics Anonymous group meets at 8 p.m. at Central Church of Christ, 820 Stadium Drive, Ada. Open meeting.
• A Christmas Tour of Homes is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tickets are on sale at Ada Area Chamber of Commerce or by calling East Central University at 559-5873. Tour ticket prices are $10 for the tour only, and $15 for the tour with transportation provided. Refreshments will be served at Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center throughout the evening. Proceeds benefit the children of Ada through Project Invest — a program of ECU’s Child Care Resource & Referral Agency and Smart Start South Central.
• Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 11194 meets at 7 p.m. at Ada Public Library.
• Latta Public Schools will host an HIV/AIDS and drug education curriculum parent meeting in room 111 of Latta Junior High at 5:30 p.m.
• VFW Post 11194 will be meeting at 7 p.m. at the Ada Public Library.
• The Ada Public Library will be having holiday readings at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
TUESDAY
DEC. 8, 2009
• Tupelo Public Works Authority will meet in the Tupelo Senior Citizens center.
• TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets at 8:15 a.m. each Tuesday on the second floor of Irving Center, located at the corner of Fourth and Oak Streets in Ada. TOPS is a weight support group.
• Ada Music Center open house is 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the corner of 9th and Francis. Concert will be from 4-7 p.m. featuring Rudy Lupinski, Bart Morrison and Roz Purdy.
• At 8 p.m. at the Picket Center School office, there will be an indian education meeting to review policies and procedures.
WEDNESDAY
DEC. 9, 2009
• Divorce/Bereavement Support Group meets at 7 p.m. at The Compassion Outreach Center, 1124 Cradduck Road. The group offers support for those who have lost a loved one through divorce or death. For more information, phone Tom at 332-6506.
• A dance is held every Wednesday at the Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-10 p.m. The cost is $6 per person.

• Pontotoc County Alcoholics Anonymous group meets at 8 p.m. at Central Church of Christ, 820 Stadium Drive, Ada. Open meeting.
• Gospel and country music singers Thurman Rinehart, Leon and Deana Barnett, Gene Williams, Robert Turner and Don Brooks will perform for residents of Ballard Nursing Home in Ada at 2:30 p.m.
• The Singing Rineharts will entertain the residents of Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Allen with gospel and country music at 6:30 p.m.

• The December meeting for the Pontotoc County Retired Educators is at the Elks Lodge beginning with lunch at 11 a.m. The program will be a musical presentation by Suzanne Wooley — Christmas Dreams.
• Al-Anon meets Fridays at 8 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 17th Street and Broadway in Ada.
• Celebrate Recovery meets each Friday at Grace Community Church in Konawa on SH 99. The program is for anyone with hurts, habits or hang-ups. From 6-7 p.m., a meal is served for $3; group from 7 to 9 p.m. is free. For more information, phone 580-272-3320 or 925-3545.

• Ada American Legion Post 72 sponsors Bingo Saturday nights at 6 and 7:30 p.m. The Post hall is located at 3529 N. Broadway, Ada. Refreshments are available. Proceeds finance veterans and their families, scholarships and Boys and Girls State.
