SEPT. 2, 2009

• Byng Elementary School will host a Scholastic Book Fair from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. The book fair will offer books and educational products for all ages. The entire community is invited to this bi-annual event. Proceeds go for the purchase of new library books at Byng Elementary School library. • A dance is held every Wednesday at the Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-10 p.m. The cost is $6 per person.



THURSDAY

SEPT. 3, 2009

• Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders support group meets at 1:30 p.m. in the Social Services Center auditorium, 1630 E. Beverly. Open to the public. Contact Sidney Pepper at 332-0832 for more information.

• Ada Chickasaw Senior Citizens hosts an Indian taco sale from 4-7 p.m. at the senior site, 1005 Chamber Loop. Pie and cake auction takes place at 5:30 p.m. Cost for taco, drink and dessert is $6. For delivery of two or more taco meals, phone 436-1007.

• Indian taco sale from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Central Church of Christ Family Life Center, 820 Stadium Drive. Proceeds go to support Ada High School football. Tickets are $5 each and may be purchased at Landmark Bank Ada-south, 1100 Cradduck Road. For ticket information, phone 580-235-0128.

• The local Alcoholics Anonymous group meets Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, 301 E. Kings Rd. For more information, phone Daniel G. at (580) 332-3503.

• Pontotoc National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. in the Valley View Regional Hospital conference room next to the cafeteria. Pontotoc NAMI is a support group, and anyone with an interest in mental health issues is invited to attend. For more information, phone Gail Wood at 580-320-1640.

• South Central Oklahoma Lupus Support Group meets at 7 p.m. at the Main Street Church of Christ, 408 East Main Street, Davis. Support groups are open to people with lupus (or people who think they might have lupus), family members, and friends. • Pontotoc County Alcoholics Anonymous group meets at 8 p.m. at Central Church of Christ, 820 Stadium Drive, Ada. Open meeting.



FRIDAY

SEPT. 4, 2009

• Cougann hamburger fry takes place from 5-7 p.m. at East Central University Kerr Activity Center. Tickets can be purchased at the event or in advance by phoning 918-4709857 or 399 8781. Cost is $5 per person.

• Al-Anon meets Fridays at 8 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 17th Street and Broadway in Ada.
