• The local Alcoholics Anonymous group meets Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, 301 E. Kings Rd. For more information, phone Daniel G. at (580) 332-3503.

• Ada Public Library hosts “Inflate, Create, Celebrate” creative workshop at 10:30 a.m. Professor B. Looney entertains with balloon creations and puppets.

FRIDAY

JUNE 19, 2009

• Old Bank Gallery, 101 W. Main, hosts an exhibit of the work of photographer Blair Waltman and pottery of Dr. Don Davies. A reception for the artists will be from 6-9 p.m. Their work will be on display at the gallery through July 4.

• Roff Masonic Lodge 169 and Vanoss Volunteer Fire Department host their ninth annual pie auction fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. at the fire department. Free hamburgers, hotdogs and homemade ice cream will be served. For more information, phone Rance Walker at 580-310-4792.

• Al-Anon meets Fridays at 8 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 17th Street and Broadway in Ada.

JUNE 20, 2009

• A gathering of Humes-Lowery/Imotichey families will be at Sandy Creek Church grounds at Fillmore. Potluck dinner begins at 2 p.m.

• Byng Alumni hosts several events beginning with a tour of campus at 10:30 a.m., reception for 1959 from 1-3 p.m. at Byng City Hall, and alumni banquet at 6:30 p.m. in Byng School cafeteria. Tickets are $12 at the door. For more information, phone Betty Allred at 580-332-0525.

• The Ada Writers Club will meet at 2:30 p.m. at the Oak Avenue Baptist Church. The public is invited.

• Al-Anon meets Sundays at 8 p.m. at Central Church of Christ at 820 Stadium Drive in Ada.

TUESDAY

JUNE 23, 2009

• The Combat Infantrymen’s Association (CIA) is now recruiting for new members. Membership into this elite group of men is open to Army infantry veterans who have served in a foreign war and earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. The CIA meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 730 E. Main in Ada at 6 p.m. For more information on meetings or membership, phone J.L. Rhodes at 332-8811 or Jack Jones at 310-6173.

JUNE 24, 2009

• Divorce/Bereavement Support Group meets at 7 p.m. at Compassion Outreach Center, 1124 Cradduck Road, Ada. The group offers support for those who have lost a loved one through divorce or death. For more information, phone Tom at 332-6506.
