• The four departments of Fortnightly Study Club — Modern Book, Music, Progressive Drama and Twenty-first Century — are looking for new members. Anyone interested in more information about Fortnightly Study Club may phone Jane at 332-8473. The next meeting will be Thursday, Feb. 4.
• A taco sale will be at Chickasaw Senior Site from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a pie auction at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $6 and includes taco, drink and dessert. Phone 436-1007 for call-in orders of two or more. Red Barn Band will entertain. A portion of the proceeds will go to Lou Perry’s family for expenses. Donations are accepted.
• Candidates for municipal office in the city of Ada will file declarations of candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. The filing period will end at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5. Ward II and Ward IV are up for election. The election will be March 2.
• Free tax help and free e-filing offered Thursdays during February by AARP Tax-Aide at Ada Masonic Lodge Hall, 930 Crestview. The event is open to all ages. For an appointment, phone 580-332-3882.
• The Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders support group will meet at 1:30 p.m. in the Social Services Center auditorium at 1630 E Beverly. All who are interested are welcome. Phone Betty Weber at 332-2011 for information.
• Pontotoc National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) meets at 7 p.m. in the Valley View Regional Hospital conference room next to the cafeteria.
