• The September meeting of the Ada High Band Boosters will be at 6:30 p.m. at Ada High Band Room. All band parents and boosters are encouraged to attend.

• Valley View Regional Hospital and the Chickasaw Nation Healthcare System will host a community Diabetes Support Group meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Valley View classrooms. There will be a conversation map activity entitled “Diabetes and Healthy Eating.” Meetings are free of charge and open to the public. For more information, phone (580) 421-1511.
• Preschool storytime for children ages 3 to 5 years will be held Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. at Ada Public Library.
• Prime Timers’ monthly meeting will be at JD’s Cafe. Visitation begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6. George Seaton will present a travelogue detailing his visits to churches over a period of 15 years from Alaska to Florida and from Maine to California. Visitors are welcome.
• Latta School’s Indian Education Parent Committee meets at 6 p.m. at the Latta High School Media Center. Business meetings will be conducted for JOM and Title VII programs. The meetings are open to all parents of JOM and Title VII students.
• Byng Elementary PTO meets at 6:30 p.m. in the elementary school library to make plans for the 2009-10 school year. The meeting will also include election of officers.

• Divorce/Bereavement Support Group meets at 7 p.m. at The Compassion Outreach Center, 1124 Cradduck Road. The group offers support for those who have lost a loved one through divorce or death. For more information, phone Tom at 332-6506.
• A dance is held every Wednesday at the Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-10 p.m. The cost is $6 per person.

• Gospel and country music singers Thurman Rinehart, Leon and Deana Barnett, Gene Williams, Robert Turner and Don Brooks will perform at 2:30 p.m. for residents of Jan Francis Nursing Home in Ada.
• Ada Multiple Sclerosis Support Group meets at 6 p.m. at Ada Reed Building. Speaker will be Robert Morgan and his birds. The meeting is open to persons with MS, their spouse, family and friends. Meal will be provided. For more information, phone 580-436-4629 or 580-436-7981.
• Singing Rineharts will entertain residents of Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Allen with gospel and country music at 6:30 p.m.

• Pontotoc County Retired Educators’ Association will begin its regular monthly meetings of the 2009-2010 year at 11 a.m. at the Ada Elks Lodge. A representative for Compassion Outreach Center will present the program.
• Al-Anon meets Fridays at 8 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 17th Street and Broadway in Ada.
